Arctic Botanicals

In Iceland and the Arctic, plants do more than grow — they adapt.

Exposed to freezing temperatures, intense seasonal light, mineral-rich volcanic terrain, and short growing seasons, Arctic botanicals develop concentrated protective compounds, including antioxidants, polyphenols, essential fatty acids, and resilient lipids.

Wild berries, flowers, herbs, seaweeds, and lichen from Iceland’s remote landscapes carry a potency shaped by purity, resilience, and the raw intelligence of Arctic nature.

We use wildcrafted Arctic botanicals as the foundation of every formula. Clinically studied ingredients help strengthen and protect the skin barrier, bringing the vitality of Icelandic nature directly to the skin.

Innihaldsefni

The Icelandic Botanical Complex

Five wild Icelandic botanicals — yarrow, nettle, red clover, dandelion, and Arctic thyme — handpicked, dried, and blended in our studio.

Together, they form our signature Icelandic Botanical Complex, the foundation of our hero face products. Crafted fresh in small batches using whole wildcrafted plants, the complex delivers a concentrated source of minerals, antioxidants, and skin-supportive phytonutrients.

Known for their soothing, strengthening, and balancing properties, these Arctic botanicals help support healthy, resilient skin while bringing the vitality of Icelandic nature directly to every formula.

Ingredient Glossary

Juniper

Juniper grows wild across Iceland's highlands and lava fields, its berries ripening slowly in the cold Arctic air. Sharp, resinous and deeply aromatic. In skincare, juniper berry has natural antiseptic and antioxidant properties that help purify, tone and protect.

Angelica

Angelica has grown in Icelandic gardens for centuries, brought by the Norse settlers who
valued it for its healing properties. In skincare it acts as a gentle antioxidant and skin soother.

Seaweed

Iceland's coastline is long and cold and extraordinarily clean. The seaweed harvested here is mineral-dense — rich in iodine, magnesium, and natural humectants that draw moisture deep into the skin.

Icelandic Moss

Icelandic moss isn't actually moss — it's lichen, one of the oldest living organisms on earth. Mineral-rich and deeply soothing, it helps detoxify, calm irritation and restore
balance to compromised skin.

Dandelion

Most people pull dandelions out of their gardens. In Iceland, we've always known better. Rich in vitamins A, C and K, dandelion is a gentle brightener and natural cleanser that supports the liver and the skin simultaneously.

Birch

In Iceland, birch is one of the few trees that survives. Its extract is naturally rich in betulin and salicylates — compounds with anti-inflammatory and clarifying properties.

Arctic Thyme

Low-growing and intensely aromatic, Arctic thyme is found all across Iceland's lava fields. It has natural antimicrobial and antioxidant properties, making it particularly effective for stressed, blemish-prone and sensitive skin.

Arctic Sea Salt

Our mineral-rich sea salt is upcycled from Saltverk — produced in Iceland's remote Westfjords using only geothermal energy and Atlantic seawater. Rich in magnesium, potassium, calcium and sodium, it exfoliates, purifies and revives the skin.

Sea Buckthorn

One of the most nutrient-dense plants in the Arctic. Sea buckthorn contains rare Omega 7 alongside vitamins A, C and E — a combination that supports skin healing, restores elasticity and locks in moisture.

Lupine

Lupine blooms across Iceland every summer in waves of violet and pink. Its seed extract is rich in proteins and amino acids that strengthen the skin barrier while keeping it soft. Strength and softness in the same plant.

Nettle

Stinging nettle is one of Iceland's most abundant wild plants — and one of the most
mineral-rich. Packed with iron, silica and vitamins, it supports skin vitality and helps reduce inflammation.

Arctic Blackcurrant

Cold-pressed from berries grown in Nordic soil, black currant seed oil is rich in GLA — an essential fatty acid that helps calm inflammation and reinforce the skin barrier.

Red Clover

Red clover grows quietly across Icelandic meadows and has been part of Nordic herbal tradition for centuries. It's naturally rich in isoflavones — that support skin renewal and help restore firmness over time.

Arctic Bilberry

Bilberries grow wild across the Icelandic highlands, ripening slowly under the midnight sun. Rich in anthocyanins and vitamin C, they deliver deep antioxidant protection and help brighten uneven skin tone.

Yarrow

Wild yarrow grows in Icelandic meadows and has been used in Nordic herbal medicine for generations. It tones, calms redness and supports the skin's natural repair process.

Astaxanthin

Sourced from microalgae grown in Iceland in clean waters, astaxanthin is one of the most potent antioxidants found in nature — with up to 6,000 times the antioxidant activity of vitamin C. It protects the skin from environmental stress and supports collagen.
