Founded by Íris Laxdal, an Icelandic architect turned skincare formulator and mother of two. 

ANGAN was born from a personal search for skincare that could truly calm stressed, sensitive skin. After experiencing burnout and skin sensitivity caused by a fast-paced lifestyle, Íris struggled to find products free from synthetic ingredients and known irritants. She began creating her own formulations at home, inspired by Iceland’s wild Arctic botanicals, ancient herbal traditions, and geothermal bathing rituals.

What started as small-batch skincare crafted in her kitchen has evolved into a brand redefining natural care for sensitive skin.

We work directly with Iceland's wild landscape — its herbs, its geothermal waters, its mineral-rich volcanic soil — to make skincare that genuinely supports sensitive and stressed skin.

Every product is handcrafted in small batches at our studio, letting us oversee water use, energy, and emissions. Our goal? Zero waste, with carefully managed carbon footprint and fresh, potent formulations.

Our ingredients are always vegan, cruelty-free, and free from parabens, silicones, sulfates, and other harmful compounds.

We wrap our formulas in recyclable glass, paper, and minimal plastic. Outer boxes are printed with vegetable inks. We also offer refills for our products in our studio so bottles can be cleaned, refilled, and reused — again and again.
